Dorrie McVeigh is a British fashion, portrait and fine art photographer based in Marseille, France. Born in New York to an influential American family, Dorrie and her family moved to London when she was a baby, severing most connections with their American roots.

Her work spans video, sculpture, photography, and sound recordings, exploring themes of heritage, memory and the passage of time. Before specialising in photography at The London College of Printing and Central Saint Martins in London, Dorrie studied “Comparative Religion” at university, focussing predominantly on Hinduism. At 18, she spent a year traveling alone in India, a profound experience that shaped her artistic vision.

"Having grown up in a country that is not my homeland, I am intrigued by the concepts of origins, belonging, and cultural influence and whilst I love to capture the iconography and allure of modern life, my true interest lies in peeling back the layers to uncover the fragile and quiet spaces that lie beneath."
